DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Exterior Trades Technician plays a key role in the long-term success of The Big Fish Contracting Co. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and performing maintenance on roofing, gutters, siding, and other exterior areas, communicating with homeowners and department leads about the status of work, being knowledgeable about brand products, and reviewing projects to determine the appropriate scope of work. Additionally, the Exterior Trades Technician is a brand ambassador, protecting the company’s reputation with customers and vendors, as well as current and future employees.

• Conduct detailed evaluations of client properties to identify necessary repairs or maintenance in roofing, siding, gutters, and related exterior areas.
• Effectively communicate with homeowners, providing clear explanations of service needs and procedures.
• Ensure all work complies with company standards and customer expectations, maintaining the integrity of exterior installations.
• Accurately measure, cut, and install materials, ensuring a secure and aesthetically pleasing fit around various structural elements.
• Diagnose sources of leaks and water damage, implementing effective solutions to protect property integrity.
• Identify & replace areas of client’s roofs, gutters, and siding that are damaged as a sustainable repair
• Asses attic spaces and properly install blown-in attic insulation
• Safely manage and operate ladders, scaffolding, and other necessary equipment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Safely transport all materials to a variety of job sites throughout the day.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products and services offered, educating clients as needed.
• Utilize various software platforms for job tracking, customer communication, and project management.
• Effectively communicate with supervisor on job progress & reporting any problems related to the job.
• Effectively communicate with customers to explain work done to their home, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction to obtain a five star review
• Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and development workshops to enhance skills and team cohesion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Outdoor Work Environment: Perform duties primarily in outdoor settings, under varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and precipitation.

Physical Demands: Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and extensive fieldwork.

Safety Focus: Prioritize safety, using appropriate personal protective equipment and adhering to all safety guidelines and standards.

Travel Requirements: Travel to various job sites within the service area, requiring reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling.
 

REPORTING

1. Report directly to the Department Lead.
2. Attend weekly Department meetings for updates on Scorecards, Rocks, To-Dos, and IDS (Identify, Discuss, Solve) current issues surrounding the customer service department.   

COMPENSATION

Wage Range: $25 - $35 per hour  + Bonus & Incentives
